J. Payne

Mr.
Payne was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on
June 7, 1968. He graduated from Serra Catholic High School
in 1986 and obtained his property, casualty and life insurance agent's
license that same year. After attending Duquesne University and receiving
a B.S. of Business Administration
in 1989, he attended the Duquesne University School of
Law, graduating in 1993.
Mr. Payne worked in the insurance industry as an agent
while pursuing his undergraduate degree. During law school,
Mr. Payne worked part-time for the law firm of Fingeret,
Alberts, & Flynn, a medium-sized Plaintiff's firm in Pittsburgh.
This experience has given him a unique perspective to
view cases from both Plaintiff and Defense point of view.
Mr. Payne was a member of the law firm of Gaydos,
Gaydos, & Associates from 1994 until November 1997
when he founded the law firm of Payne Myers. As a trial
attorney, Mr. Payne concentrates in insurance defense,
insurance law and subrogation with an emphasis on
automobile insurance law. Mr. Payne has successfully
completed CPCU courses one, five and six. Mr. Payne is
a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association,
American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Defense Institute
and Defense Research Institute. Mr Payne. is active in
his local community, church and fraternal organizations.
TheOn December 5, 2008 Attorney Peter J. Payne
presented a continuing legal education seminar at
California University entitled “Personal Injury Claims
Involving Minors”. Mr. Payne is the managing partner of
The Injured Children’s Advocacy Institute and has handled hundreds
of injury claims involving children. The class
included subjects such as the basis of a minor’s claim,
the applicability of the Statute of Limitations and
ethical considerations.
Mr.
Payne has already been invited to present this class
again next semester at California University which tries to
give the members of the Pennsylvania Bar a variety of
subjects to enhance their practice.
Mr. Payne resides in North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania,
with his wife
Bonnie and four children.
